Do You Have A Purpose, Personal Fit or Memebership?

Think about when you first joined your team. You probably were wondering, “Why I am here?” and “Will this work be meaningful?” If your team is an established one, you might be asking, “Why continue?” If you have a good answer, you will move on to consider other questions. If you do not have an answer this will be your number 1 concern, and if no answer comes you might feel uncomfortable and want to leave the team. On the other hand, having a clear purpose and meaning provides reason to ask question and join the meeting.

Several other concerns are usually associated with this stage, lets call it the purpose/ orientation stage. You will consider and measure all participants in the team meeting, trying to measure if you fir in and if the group is accepting you. Whatever your scale says YES - NO will dictate your particpation.

Orientation of where the group is and what standards are being executed are usually happening inside peoples imagination. Everybody tries to complete their story and make it fit.

Can you tell if the members of your meeting are well oriented?

What are the indications that memebers know the team’s purpose, feel their skills are esential, and feel accepted as full particpants?
